Publications
My research covers social cognition, self-concept and intergroup behavior, and a growing line of methods work: tutorials on count data and dynamic structural equation models, with open research software. I am open to co-authorship and methods collaboration, especially on psychometrics, multilevel and structural equation models, and intensive longitudinal data. - Mrozinski, B. (2026). Counts Are Not One Problem: A Task-Mechanism Framework for Analyzing Count Outcomes in Psychology. Prepared for Behavior Research Methods (Tutorial). A single-author methods tutorial arguing that "count data" is not one analytic problem but at least three, and that which one you face is set by the data-generating process of the task rather than by the outcome being an integer. Builds a task-mechanism taxonomy across verbal fluency, divergent thinking, and item-count scores of the adverse-childhood-experience type, tests it in a reproducible three-arm Monte Carlo study, and distils the result into a decision procedure and a diagnostic function. Code, simulation output, and the decision tool are deposited on OSF. Manuscript complete; preparing submission OSF materials
- Mrozinski, B. (2026). Which DSEM? A Scenario-Based Tutorial for Dynamic Structural Equation Modeling of Intensive Longitudinal Data. Prepared for Advances in Methods and Practices in Psychological Science (Tutorial). A decision framework mapping observable properties of intensive longitudinal data (floor effects, trends and cycles, additional nesting levels, irregular measurement timing) onto the DSEM variant each one implies, with worked examples in Mplus and R side by side, mini simulations quantifying the cost of the wrong default, and a reporting checklist for DSEM analyses. Full draft complete

- Mrozinski, B. (2026). countkit: A decision aid and task-calibrated simulators for count outcomes (Version 0.1.0, R package).
Companion R package to the methods tutorial Counts Are Not One Problem.
diagnose()profiles a count vector and names the model its task mechanism implies, reporting whether the count is overdispersed, bounded out of k, or zero-heavy, and conditioning the dispersion tests on the design rather than mistaking a real group difference for overdispersion. Ships the three task-calibrated simulators from the paper. Repository Documentation
